Your Economy

Some blame it on the sever Winter in the Northeast, but much of the United states had a very temperate winter.

The United States economy expanded at .2% for the first quarter, 2015, which is better than zero expansion in GDP (Gross Domestic Product), which is better than negative expansion, but not an economy that anyone should be proud of; certainly not the Obama Administration. With the Obama foreign policy in tatters since his 2009 Apology Tour, the Obama administration has long pointed to... (read more)
A meeting was held in Edenton on Nov 22 in order that local citizens will understand the benefits, or detriments, to the community regarding wind farms. The meeting included a 2 hr. video and the moderator was John Droz of Morehead City, who is a retired Physicist and Environmental Advocate. He has been retired from the General Electric Aerospace Engineering Division located in Utica NY, for 30 yrs. and undertook this project on his own and at his expense without contributions from any outside ... Standard & Poor's, the credit rating agency, has declared (a week and a half ago) that the government shut-down took an estimated $24 billion out of the US economy.

This number keeps coming up again and again by those parroting blame for the shut down on particular suspects. So despite the fact that this is now old news, I felt compelled to address this particular political myth.

The S&P's estimates included the following calculations:

• About $3.1 billion in lost government servi... (read more)

Legislation would raise limits on how much independents can distribute on their own

WHITSETT Bill Sherrill feels like he has an uphill battle in an effort to continue self-distributing the beer he brews at Red Oak Brewery in Guilford County.

And a few other items discussed.

What is is SNI (Symbiotic Networks)?

I ask this question rhetorically for two reasons: 1) Most folks haven't a clue what we do; 2) I wish to briefly explain our most current advances.

First, I well understand why folks do not know who we are: I have been more concerned with developing the product rather than selling them. The selling begins now, or soon, depending on when you hear from me or are visited by me. When that occurs, do yourself a favor and sp... (read more)
So, I have well described what constitutes a moderated informational platform, which is all Beaufort County NOW is, and all it was ever intended to be, but for the sake of clarity, I will offer this explanation below.

Our purposeful intent for our proprietary moderated informational platform for the County NOWs, as manifested by our prototype, Beaufort County NOW (BCN), is to provide space on the world wide web, where all curious folks, including ourselves, can submit information while disco... (read more)
In an effort to contain costs, and remain economically viable, in the fluid phosphate ore market that is worldwide, and truly in a state of economic flux, Potash Corporation of Saskatchewan is giving the 'pink slip' to about 1000 employees spread across their entire corporate footprint. The local damage to our Beaufort County economy, and to the affected families of those being relieved of their duties at the Aurora mine and processing facility will be about 85 jobs.

Recently an associate of mine in my other professional life, county government administration, expressed to me, "I really like Beaufort County NOW; however, often when I look at the latest articles, I see one I want to read when I find time, and when I come back to the home page it's gone."

This bright young public servant continued, "I know why they are gone; it's because you put up so many articles every day, far more than anyone else I know, but I guess I am conditioned to these long lists... (read more)
Publisher's note: I just had to re-publish this post again for two reasons. 1) This is the point in our genesis where I declare that we have enough traffic to communicate effectively to enough folks that others could benefit from that traffic point. 2) It was nearly 2 3/4 years ago when I originally published this post, and now our traffic is more than 4.5 times more than then by my personal metrics: unique I.P.s, page views.

To embellish this to a fine point, I published last month's traffi... (read more)
In this one case of "cooling my heels," I am projecting a new but familiar direction - what it means to be committed to a fiduciary service.

Each year, without fail, I procrastinate to the near end of the required period given, to take my continuing education class, Broker-in-Charge (BIC) update, to continue my real estate eligibility at my long existing level of licensure. This behavior to wait is endemic to my character: I am a creature of my own nature, unredeemable at this point.

Let's face this one truth together: For a periodical to be successful, that communicative device must be frequented by people ... people inspired to use your literary auspices to learn stuff. Understanding this one precept, one must agree that the publication with the most traffic, unencumbered by a poorly functioning delivery system, is relevant and must be considered as a worthy vehicle to to bring people together: for, and with, ideas, upcoming events, fun stuff and products and services of... Real Estate

Publisher's note: The purpose for me putting this promotional post on the front page of BCN is multi-fold. First, this is a substantial representation of where i have spent a good bit of time for the first 1 1/2 months of this year. Plus, I have spent substantial time on the digital marketing of this property, including the genesis of the new and improved Deatherage & Associates.

Secondly, and this is a big second here, I have been toying with this concept of total marketing, employing BC... (read more)
